It occurred to me that I should also probably introduce myself instead of just starting the topic
So Hi, I’m Bastian! I’ve been tracking data about myself for around eight years now, going back to early 2012 when I got my first Fitbit. At the same time I have to admit that I haven’t done any ‘proper’ self-research on myself. Instead I have largely focused on post-hoc data analyses of the data I’ve collected over the years, without any particular hypothesis I wanted to test in many cases. Among others, data I’ve looked into are physical activity, geolocations, social media usage, texting behaviour, sleep quality, … You can find some examples of those on my blog, as well as in the personal data notebooks of Open Humans.
I’m looking forward to trying a more experimental setup to data collection now!
